Ethiopia, Hungary Agree to Boost Trade

Ethiopia and Hungary have agreed to strengthen their trade relations, according to Ministry of Trade and Regional Integration.

Trade and Regional Integration Minister, Gebremeskel Chala, and Hungary Foreign Affairs and Trade Minister, Péter Szijjártóheld, held discussion this afternoon.

Trade and Regional Integration Minister, Gebremeskel said on the occassion that Ethiopia will use its vast potential in the agricultural sector by increasing the quality and quantity of the products it exports to Hungary, and by creating suitable conditions to facilitate bilateral trade.

He also expressed his country’s commitment to further strengthen trade relations between Ethiopia and Hungary and narrow the gap in trade balance.

Foreign Affairs and Trade Minister Szijjártó, who is in Ethiopia for an official working visit, stated on his part that Hungary will work to improve trade relations between the two countries by importing agricultural products from Ethiopia.

The minister explained that his country is committed to increasing the trade relations and economic benefits of the two countries by engaging Hungarian investors and companies in the spheres of agriculture, water, green energy, software development, and best seed development in Ethiopia.
