Abuja: The Chief Executive Officer of First Rotech, Mr. Austin Oguejiofor, has announced that the Abuja Airport Garden City will include more than 3,000 modern homes equipped with state-of-the-art facilities. The city, which spans 250 hectares in the Gousa District, is intended to be a leading example of aesthetic and quality architectural design in sub-Saharan Africa.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, Oguejiofor shared these details during a site visit by the Federal Capital Development Authority's Engineering Department team. The project aims not only to address the housing deficit in Abuja but also to offer a contemporary living environment with outstanding infrastructure.
Oguejiofor highlighted that the development would transform Gousa District into a vibrant and well-connected community, greatly contributing to the growth and development of Abuja. He mentioned that the city would feature 40 kilometres of internal roads, enhancing connectivity within the area.
The ongoing construction of a 40-kilometre access road is expected to significantly reduce travel time from Abuja's city centre to the Abuja Airport Garden City by 10 minutes. This access road will connect to the Idu Railway Station, providing a shorter route from districts such as Garki, Maitama, and Wuye.
During the inspection, Oguejiofor noted that the purpose was to evaluate the progress of the access road near Idu Railway Station leading to the Abuja Airport Garden City. He emphasized that the project would open up Gousa District, offering a more direct route to the airport.
He confirmed that the Abuja Airport Garden City has been planned and approved by the relevant agencies, with the access road as a priority to connect the city centre to the project site.
