The governor of Kano State, Abdullahi Ganduje, has announced that the state administration is also looking into the kidnapping and death of Zuwaira, a 12-year-old girl. A suspect, 21-year-old Auwal Abdulrasheed, was caught on January 9, 2022, for the horrific murder of the girl. Abdulrasheed reported kidnapping the minor, murdering her, and then demanding N1 million in ransom from her family before burying her body in a shallow grave.
